Planning any kind of website is always an exciting time, but it can also be an expensive one. Of course you want it to look as good as it possibly can so that it can attract the right kind of visitors, but is it really necessary to get an expert web designer in to design it for you?

There are both advantages and disadvantages to this, and the best way forward is to sketch out your ideas for your website before you make the decision itself. How do you want the website to look? Would a basic design be good enough, or do you want something more flash? Do you want to include a hit counter so you can see how many visitors you are getting? Maybe a handful of pages will be enough for your needs – or perhaps you are thinking of dozens of pages instead?
